World Premeire of Moby Dick at the Dallas Opera

Moby Dick Dallas Opera posterBased on Herman Melville’s sprawling 19th century literary masterpiece, The Dallas Opera presented the world premiere of Moby Dick. The ambitious production included a massive set piece which evoked the sense of a giant ocean wave at it’s crest. The entire set became a surface for video projected by a double stack of Christie 20k’s in the balcony. The content was delivered on Pandora’s Box media servers which allowed for accurate mapping of the surface using Coolux‘s powerful geometry engine. The video package was provided by Scharff Weisberg who sent Doctor Mojo to Texas for a week to work as the projectionist. (2010.04.07-12)
