USA Network Summer Screening Event
Outdoor video projection poses a number of challenges which must be addressed with a high level of knowledge and expertise. Improper methodology or lack of careful attention could result in poor image quality, equipment failure or worse. AV production company Glow Design Group chose MVT to handle the projection tech for a series of public outdoor screenings that took place at the Hudson River Park’s Pier 46. USA Network Summer Screenings event premiered the first episodes of the season over the course of three consecutive nights on a massive 35′ wide screen. The crisp, brilliant image was achieved at a throw distance of 160′ with two Barco XLM-HD30s. A forklift was used to place the projectors, weighing in at 400lbs each, atop a steel tower. Once in place, the 6300 Watt Xenon lamps could be safely installed. Focus, convergence and temperature monitoring was done remotely via LAN network from a MacBook Pro positioned near the screen.
